Raised in Oregon, Evan D Vickers earned a BA in Psychology from Reed College and PhD in Neuroscience from Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) before travelling to Switzerland to complete a post-doctoral research fellowship at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL).

He currently lives with his wife and 2 children in Eugene, OR, where he has been a post-doctoral scientist in the laboratory of Dr. David A McCormick at the University of Oregon since 2018.

Evan is an avid alpine and backcountry skier. He is currently enjoying teaching his 7 year-old daughter to ski and looks forward to many adventures in the future. He also enjoys tracking the weather, camping, and gardening.
